I'll be there.

I started clubbing at Subway City one week after the great man left us. I've heard so much about him, and the music that got me into clubbing has everything to owe to Tony de Vit.

I'd heard last year that another brand were going to be holding a TdV memorial event in Birmingham about the same time as this event. It would have been a good event, and as much as this would have pained me to say in the past, it couldn't do the justice that Storm will do.

Additionally Fergie is returning. I've heard for several years now that various promoters and clubs were talking to the great Irishman about coming back to hard house, whether it be for just the one set or maybe more. Now finally it's happ-ening. Although I don't know Fergie, many of us know that he knew Tony de Vit (and lived with him) - and as much as it means to us to hear Fergie hard house again, and not just at any event but at a Tony de Vit (not memorial but) celebration, I can only imagine what it means to him himself.

Hard house really hasn't been exciting me for a fair while now. This event is though. Fergie back playing hard house. An amazing lineup on top. And a celebration of the life of the person that not only got Birmingham into better music than cheese, but a (legend) DJ and producer that spawned a whole scene - thanks to which many of us were able to shake off the crap of daily life and go on to make lifelong friends.

So.... Storm, an amazing event, (HDA) club of the year twice on the trot even. Fergie back, and at a TdV event. Then a lineup including Paul Glazby, Marc Johnson, Riggsy (live!) and Alex Towse... That's without the main room lineup being announced. I'm hoping at least Andy Farley's there too... All at The Emporium, an amazing venue which is an enigma - despite not having a train station, limited bus services and outside any major city, always seems to pull in the crowds and everyone of us has a great night at every time.

So, I'll see you down the front, stomping, and having a great night!

Bukey - you have hit the nail completely on the head. I think everyone will be happy with the rest of the main room line up - and see the association they all have with Tony :)
